OK 2 points... or more on this. Firstly Vista sucked big time, being a Linux user I only really got to laugh at other peoples problems with regards to Vista, and was largely reassured that I had chosen the correct OS all those many years ago. The other perplexing point is that, the same announcement was delivered when Vista was in pre-production... 'BEST EVER', 'SALES EXCEED XP'. Surely the world is catching onto the fact, that there only so may users, and so many new users, that actually buy an OS. Did MS also mention the fact that they will be stopping the support of XP, thus forcing people to buy the new OS that they are pushing out? mmm I don't think so.
Lest I be termed one sided, I have to admit for the sake of admitting, I am now starting to use Kubuntu a lot more than SuSE at the moment. I can't see myself being an Ubuntu user for the foreseeable future, due to the fact that
One thing about the 'x'buntu is it really, really needs bandwidth. FU Telkom!!!! yes that was utter frustration, I recently downgraded my line from the 4Mb back to a 354(or whatever they call it) and am clearly getting the same throughput as before. Bwhaha fast internet my foot. More like lets crawl along internet is like it. Almost as bad as dial up, but to its credit at least it is a tidge faster than that. But comparing dial up with Fast internet is like comparing two different species of snails. Neotel to their credit has not endeared themselves to me either! Why oh why do you want to force me to buy into a 24 month contract!!! All I want to do dammit is buy the equipment I need and then rent your service as I need it!!! Lock in SUCKS and sucks big time.
